PACE Your LIFE Participants Give Back
A few men living with dementia are making a meaningful
impact in their community by collecting comfort items for children receiving
services at a local Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC). This heartwarming
initiative demonstrates the power of compassion, purpose, and community
involvement, regardless of life’s challenges.
Through this project, the men—who participate in PACE Your
Life at the Milford Wellness Village—gathered fun & comforting items such
as stuffed animals, books, coloring books, crayons, journals, pens, and pencils,
etc. PACE Your Life is a Medicare Alternative, all-inclusive care for the
elderly program.
These donations will be provided to children who have
experienced trauma, offering them a sense of security and support during
difficult times.
“This initiative is not just about giving back—it’s about
reminding these men that they still have the power to make a difference,” said April
English, PACE Your Life Home Support Professional. “Acts of kindness like this
create a ripple effect, bringing comfort to both the givers and the
recipients.”
Friends and neighbors of the men and Ms. English from Angola
Estates, Shoreview Woods and Mill Pond Acres collected and donated and
delivered 37 individualized bags to the
Georgetown SARC office. The collected items will be distributed to children in
need. The project has also inspired caregivers, families, and community members
to contribute, further amplifying the impact of this meaningful effort.
